Lincoln of Wayne Peter Spina, Jr

Three Generations Build One of Nation’s Top Car Dealerships

General Manager of Lincoln of Wayne, Peter Spina, Jr., spoke about the dealership’s unique history being a third-generation, family-owned business.

Spina’s grandfather, Gaspar Spina, started selling cars in the 1950s and established the dealership in 1962.

“Back then, the industry was very different,” Spina explained. “He worked his way up to eventually owning a dealership in Paterson. Paterson Lincoln-Mercury was our first dealership.”

Eventually, the business outgrew the Paterson facility, and the family moved the dealership to the present-day Wayne location in 1962. “My father had fuel in his veins, and our business was growing. So we dug into the auto industry, especially with Lincoln-Mercury as a brand, and we’ve grown since.” Spina said.

Spina told TAPintoTV how he grew up at Lincoln of Wayne. “As a young kid, I was always there,” Spina explained. “I worked in different positions along the way.”

Today, Peter Spina Jr. is the General Manager of Lincoln of Wayne, and the dealership is one of the top in the nation.

“We’re a third-generation family business that’s been doing business with our guests for multiple generations,” Spina explained. “For us, our guests become family. I think that sets the tone for the relationships that we build for years to come.”
