#DealershipsGivingBack: A Morehead City car dealership is giving back to the community, donating $10,000 to Carteret Community College.
Parker Buick GMC says the money will benefit the college’s new Career Center building.
“Our family has been fortunate to serve this community for over 73 years, and it’s important for us to invest and give back to our community in a positive way,” said Brian Parker, General Manager of Parker Buick GMC.
“I am an advocate for Carteret Community College and the many lives the College impacts every year.”
Officials say the Career Center allows the college and NC Works to be in the same building, so students, job seekers, and employers will have all the necessary resources in one place.
“Carteret Community College and The Foundation are thrilled to partner with businesses like Parker Buick GMC to achieve our major capital campaign goals,” explains Catherine Parker, member of the Carteret Community College Board of Trustees.
“We have a gem sitting in our backyard and we must continue to keep our College at the forefront of innovation, as well as continue to assist with economic growth in our county. I am proud our college and community continue to work together to create a better quality of life for our community members, students, and their families.”
Officials add that job seekers will have access to training and employment services in one place, and employers can also post job openings, have help finding candidates, and more.
